Currently Happenings: Currently freelance performing on drumset with the Funny Farmers (Country/Americana) with occasional guest artist, Ramblin' Jack Elliott sitting in and Kurt Huget of Moonlight Rodeo (Americana) throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Also performing on congas, jembe and percussion for Garrick Davis and the Fabulous Funky Band (garrickdavis.com/) and Steel Jam Caribbean Steel drum band (www.steeljam.com) This past semester I also taught Percussion Methods at Sonoma State University and performed on the Faculty Recital in the new Green Music Center. My most recent rock project and most creatively fulfilling music endeavor to date was Vaylence. It was a women powered rock trio here in the bay area with a sound compared to Melissa Etheridge and U2. We recorded at Fantasy Studios in studio A with producer Jeffrey Wood (Housemartins and Penelope Houston) and are thrilled with the result of our efforts. We were getting radio play on internet and college stations at the time of the end of group disbanding. Recent Happenings: One of my favorite performers and fun people to work with is John Allair of Van Morrison. We played a duo show of keyboards and drums at the Mystic Theatre in Petaluma to open for Max Weinberg. Together with Kim and Krista and Rising Tide (www.earthwaterrecords.com), we rocked a sold out house at San Francisco's historic Great American Music Hall. We played another sold old historic venue in San Francisco at the Fillmore's lounge as an opening slot for the Indigo Girls. Over the past few years I have played with the Dream Farmers from Sebastopol on drums or percussion. Also from the Half Moon Bay coastside area, I enjoy playing with Dave Solhaug and Howard Lieberman in several incarnations of acoustic guitar driven coastal jazz. In 2009 I had the pleasure of playing percussion with Alexis Harte at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley. (www.alexisharte.com/) In 2008 Jennifer Wilsey and I played a classical and world music marimba concert as part of Cinnabar's Summer Concert Series. (www.cinnabartheater.org/) Past projects include playing drums for Stuart Rosh and the Geniuses, an original country/Americana and R&B band from San Mateo. Another original rock band I in the SF Bay Area I played percussion with for a bit was Chris James and Small Change Romeos.
I subbed on drumset for friends of mine in the pop rock group, Sol-Innocence, now Mere-Sol at several venues in San Francisco and the East Bay. (www.myspace.com/meresol) I have had the opportunity to record with the San Francisco Women's Philharmonic on several occasions at Skywalker Studio along with live performances in various San Francisco concert halls such as Yerbe Buena Center for the Arts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Women%27s_Philharmonic I had the pleasure of playing drums for a benefit concert in Woodside CA where Neil Young sat in and played guitar with us for the whole set with our band Rocky and Friends. Shortly afterwards I was a drum tech for Crosby Stills Nash and Young for drummer Jim Keltner and later did tech work for Crazy Horse in the studio with Ralph Molina. I have played classical percussion with the Dallas Wind Symphony for a July 4 celebration for a crowd of about 10,000 with a live radio broadcast. I played drumset for local Bay Area shows with world renown guitarist Stevan Pasero. Other favorites include: Recording and performing on marimba, drums and percussion with the pop-caribbean and eclectic sounds of Edward Dee (www.edwarddee.net) Working together with singer/songwriter and good friend Kristine Robin. (www.kristinerobin.com) Congas and drumset with Steel Jam (www.steeljam.com). Played drums and percussion with Blame it on the Dog. (www.blameitonthedog.com) Played drums last minute for a show with contemporary pop singer/songwriter Jill Knight. Played percussion and drums for local friend Nancy Hall of the Curios. Nancy is currently on the road singing backup with Neil Young.
